There are just over two weeks left for the celebration of one of the most important sporting events in the Canary Islands, which this year has as a novelty the variation of part of its cycling tour.

From 07:00 h. of May 26, Lanzarote will host a new edition of IM Lanzarote that is reputed to be one of the toughest in the world, or “the toughest in the world” according to the winner of the 2016 edition, Jesse Thomas (USA).

The hardness is marked by the orography of the island together with its climate, since it is usual for the wind to reign during the cycling segment and later the heat, in the race segment.

This year, some changes and improvements are incorporated into the cycling route that will not go through locations such as La Santa or Famara, but will keep going through the main stages such as the Timanfaya National Park or the Mirador del Río.
